Common questions

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Your management unit, seasons, coordinates, camp, tracks and check-in work with no signal. For the background map, download your area first on the Offline tab. The regulations PDFs save to your phone automatically. Weather, wildfire updates and Party need signal.

How do I hunt with my group?

Party tab → create a party and send the 6-letter code (Invite). Everyone else enters the code to join. Turn on "Share my location" to show up on each other's maps. Drop pins for camp or the truck, or pick any spot on the map, and message the group.

Someone is being abusive in my party. What do I do?

Long-press their message, or tap ⋯ next to their name, to report or block them. If you started the party, you can also remove them — they can't rejoin with the code. We review every report within 24 hours.

How do I delete my data?

More → Delete my data. This permanently removes your party memberships, pins, messages and anonymous account from our server, and your trips, tracks, forms, camp and name from the phone. Downloaded maps and saved regulations stay so you don't have to download them again.

Why does it ask for "Always" location?

Only so a trip check-in or a track keeps recording with your phone in your pocket. It's optional — everything else works with "While Using the App".

Are the seasons and boundaries official?

They come from the official BC synopsis and DataBC, but Vantage Hunt is a guide, not the law. Each season links to its page in the synopsis — check it, and check in-season changes at gov.bc.ca/hunting, before you hunt.
